Trustee

A. Christine Svenson – Palatine Township Trustee

Personal Message:

Happy Summer to everyone!

It is a true honor and privilege to serve the people of Palatine Township.

By way of brief background, I grew up in the northwest suburbs believing in the power of volunteerism and community service as incredibly important vehicles to help those in need when government cannot. My entire career has been dedicated to serving people from all walks of life as a practicing civil litigation attorney in downtown Palatine – Svenson Law Offices.

In particular, I have proudly represented individuals in difficult family situations including domestic abuse. This “real life” occupational experience combined with my service on the Board of Journeys the Road Home and volunteer legal work for the disadvantaged at Willow Creek Care Center has been both eye opening and personally enriching. And now I have the opportunity to see firsthand, and make a direct impact, on what government itself can do for those most in need.

Township government is government closest to the people. And yet there are so many crucial services available to the residents about which those in need are not aware! One of my primary goals is to increase the visibility and awareness in our community of these vital resources. I will also go on a “listening tour” to gather more information about local needs. I promise to ask the hard questions, and make the tough decisions, based on integrity and not popularity. Adherence to the highest principles of honesty, dedication and civility will be the bedrock of all actions and decisions.

I truly enjoy meeting people from different cultural backgrounds – it is what makes the world go around! As a hobby, I love to be able to practice my love of romance languages – French, Spanish, and Italian. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible!
