Ray Kincaid – Palatine Township Trustee

Personal Message:

I went to Kindergarten and grammar school in Des Plaines.  My mother passed away when I was 7.  My father remarried within 2 years and they have just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

In high school I was very active in sports and student council and I became Public Relations committee chairman my junior year. During the summers I worked for Northwest Mosquito Abatement.  I went to Harper Jr College and during my second year I needed to leave college to manage a chain of garden centers. My father had partnered with individuals who built centers for Hardy Gardens out of Nashville Tennessee who had filed for bankruptcy. I ran and managed stores until they could be sold to independents.

After I married my Maine West high school sweetheart, Sally, I took a salesman job for Anker Data Systems, a German Manufacture of Electro Mechanical cash registers.  The transformation to computerized cash registers, or point of sales systems, was about to peak.  At the age of 23, I became the youngest Midwest Regional Manager for Data Terminal Systems, a major manufacturer out of Boston and publicly traded on the stock exchange.

My wife and I moved to Hoffman Estates in Palatine Township, and had our 1st child Bree.  An opportunity became available for me to stop a difficult business travel schedule and stay in Illinois.  I purchase a cash register company in Chicago and a few years later we had our son Raymond.  In 1987, my wife and I added a Travel Agency in Hoffman Estates to our businesses, SAL TRAVEL, that Sally continues to run for 30 years now.

I became a Fire and Police Commissioner for Hoffman Estates where my responsibility was to hire, promote or terminate fire and police officers for over 16 years.  During this time I was privileged to coach and manage Pop Warner Football and Palatine Youth Baseball teams with a few championships.

I am a founding member of Holy Family Parish in Inverness.  I was a Village Trustee for Hoffman Estates from 2005-2013 and still am active with multiple commissions.  Our daughter and son-in-law live close by with their two sets of twins and my daughter is a wonderful stay at home mom. We are also currently involved with our son Raymond in his new business adventure in Palatine, Athletes Academy, which is for training athletes of all ages.  All of us reside in the Palatine Township area. We’ve been here for forty years.

I am grateful to have been elected as Palatine Township Trustee this year, and feel my life experiences will benefit me to be the best public servant I can be.  I do not consider myself as a politician, but I am a public servant and please do not hesitate to call me if you feel I can be of service to you.
