Final Day for Cook County Board of Review Property Tax appeals

Cook County Board of Review property tax assessment appeals for the 2025 tax year are open now through Tuesday, February 3rd in Palatine Township.

Residents of the Township can contact the Palatine Township Assessor’s office or Cook County to file an appeal on their home. We do not recommend that you file an appeal if you have a Senior Freeze. If you win your appeal, you could reduce the deduction you receive from your Senior Freeze.

There are three ways you can file an appeal at our office or you can file directly with the Board of Review.

1. You can get a form from a box by the front door of the office or from the front desk inside the Township office. Fill out the yellow highlighted area and either return the form to the front desk in the office or deposit it into the box outside the front door.
2. You can also send an email to appeals@palatinetownship-il.gov with your name, address, phone number, email address and, if you know it, your Property Index Number (PIN).
3. If you have a complicated appeal, you can set up a half hour appointment with one of our staff by calling 847-358-6164.
4. Finally, you can file directly with the Cook County Board of Review at Cook County Board of Review
