Office Assistant Part Time

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional individual to join our team. This position will provide support and administrative support to the Administration Department in Palatine Township and will work closely with residents and clients.

The ideal candidate will enjoy helping the public as well as maintaining an efficient office environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General Office Support including telephone support and general correspondence
  • Front counter duties include notarizing documents, processing applications, etc.
  • Assists donors with Outreach Program selections/drop-offs and assists recipients with program applications
  • Position serves as a backup to other departments as needed
  • Participation and representation at Township and outside events and Expo’s.
  • Notarizes documents.
  • Prepares documents for Annual Town Meeting.
  • Prepares and handles Meeting Room and Patriot Room Schedule Books.
  • Completes any other job assignment that may be deemed necessary or appropriate to fulfill the mission of the Township Board.

Special Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and business communication required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, & Outlook), databases, etc.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Multilingual, Spanish, preferred
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. and stand for at least 30 minutes

Part Time position. Ability to participate in FSA and a 457(b) plan.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
