Palatine Township General Assistance Caseworker – Full Time

In this role, you will conduct evaluations, determine program eligibility, provide client assistance, coordinate referrals to community resources, and manage an active caseload.

Requirements:
- Proven excellent case management knowledge and skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Clear, concise communication and writing skills
- Ability to lift 35 lbs. and stand for prolonged periods of time
Credentials & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Undergraduate degree in social sciences or related fields preferred
- Special consideration will be given to multilingual candidates
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Excellent customer service abilities including interpersonal skills
- Perform duties with trust and confidentiality
- Skilled in active listening
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently and follow protocols
- Knowledge and skill in database and software programs
- Partner with other governmental units
- Analyze and interpret government and agency correspondence, policies and procedures
Salary:
- From $20/hour, commensurate with experience
