At the March 31, 2014 meeting, the Palatine Township Board passed a resolution honoring the late David Regner for his many years of service to the people of Palatine Township. They also expressed their most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones on his passing. Regner had a life of service to his country, his state, his township and his community. Following his years in the army during the Korean War, Regner served as State Representative then State Senator. After that, he became Palatine Township Supervisor for 12 years. Regner had many notable accomplishments while serving as Township Supervisor, among them were:
> obtaining funding for the Township Daycare and playground
> assisting in starting the Northwest Community Hospital Mobil Dental Clinic which continues to care for many underprivileged residents
> donating personal funds for renovation of the Northwest Community Oncology Unit patient and family area.
